Newmarket Wedding Photography at Swynford Manor

Wedding Photography in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire by October James Photography

When we first met Nicola and Lee we knew their wedding was going to be fun - and their big day certainly was that!

As I arrived for Bridal prep, the Prosecco was flowing and both rooms were busy with bridesmaids getting ready for the day ahead. The boutique bedrooms at Swynford Manor offer a stunning setting and the copper roll-top bath is a feature that must be taken advantage of!

The Groom and Ushers were getting ready at the White Hart Hotel just down the road and according to James there was a lot laughter throughout the morning, particularly when Lee flashed is Superman vest beneath his shirt!

The hour before the ceremony is always the most hectic - guests are flocking to the venue, the ushers are escorting family members to their seats and the bridesmaids are adding their final touches. As Nicola heads down to meet her Dad, Lee and his Best-man take their positions at the top of the aisle.

The ceremony was filled with emotion and when the couple's little girl came forward to present the the rings, there really wasn't a dry eye in the room!

Autumn weddings provide a firey backdrop of flora and fauna and the gardens at Swynford Manor are as much at their best at this time of year as any other. We had such a giggle shooting Nicola and Lee's portraits, they have great chemistry and a great sense of humour which really shines through their photos. One of the highlight for us, had to be the smoke bomb images. James and I love getting creative and adding a little something extra to our pictures.

As the evening was drawing to a close, what better way to send the bride and groom off than with a sparkler tunnel. Our guests wrapped up warm and while they patiently stood with sparkler in hand, Lee and his best-man ran down the two lines lighting them with blow torches.
