Hockwold Hall is one of our favourite places and it's no surprise this exceptional wedding venue was recently awarded Best Norfolk Wedding Venue by Muddy Stilettos. With manicured and varied gardens around the house and dramatic wood-panelling and period features inside, this really is a wedding photographer's dream location.
Elle and James both got ready at Hockwold before enjoying an outdoor ceremony in the sunshine.
There are many advantages to having two experienced wedding photographers throughout the day. One is obviously being able to capture both the bride and groom getting ready in the morning, but equally important is being able to have one of us positioned at the front of the ceremony and one at the rear - this is especially important at a venue like Hockwold where both aspects are so impressive. During the post-ceremony drinks and canapés on Hockwold's rear lawn, we took Elle and James off for a quick portrait shoot with just the two of them. Having been lucky enough to photograph many weddings at Hockwold before, we know all the best places and can work quickly so we don't keep you away from your guests too long. The newlyweds were then welcomed into the Marquee with their bridal party performing a celebratory dance. The day then flowed beautifully with the wedding breakfast followed by the cake cutting and first dance. We were also able to grab a few more portraits in the evening as the setting sun was casting a lovely light.
